REINHARD HEYDRICH
(1904 - 1942) "The Hangman", Nazi head of the dreaded SS and architect of the "Final Solution", his assassination in Prague caused a retribution of the destruction of Lidice and murder of many of its inhabitants. Especially rare, fine content war-date D.S. "Heydrich", 1p. folio, Berlin, Aug. 17, 1940, a promotion of Paul Heinecke to the rank of "Kriminalkommissar" (Superintending Detective) signed by Heydrich on behalf of Minister of the Interior Wilhelm Frick. A fine, sharp signature, with blind-embossed state seal at bottom. File holes at top and bottom and a horizontal fold, else very good, set into a black and red lacquered wood frame. SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer Paul Heinecke (SS No. 326396) appears in the records as having served in the R.S.D. on both Adolf Hitler's and Hermann Goering's personal bodyguard. He was twice awarded the War Merit Cross, and was promoted by both Goering and Himmler. According to Himmler, members of the R.S.D. had to be "tried and trusted National Socialists, and furthermore excellent criminal-police officers of unconditional reliability, utmost conscientiousness in fulfillment of duties, good manners and physical dexterity".

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
