Description:

REICHLUFTSCHUTZBUND SUBORDINATE''S DAGGER
Reichluftschutbund (RLB) Subordinate''s Dagger, 1st Model by WKC. A good example of this rather rare dagger. The nickel fittings are in excellent condition throughout. The pommel shows only typical, very slight surface wear. The crossguard displays the art deco eagle in the center having stubby wings and clutching a plain wreath with a mobile swastika within. The crossguard extends outward with boldly-cut lined surfaces on either side, and it too is in very good condition. The tapered ebony-colored wood grip is fine, and bears the first style RLB emblem with acceptable enameling, much of the silvering worn. The scabbard is straight with no dents though the paint is scraped and should be restored. The fittings survived nicely, and show no damage at all. A leather "DRGM" hanger is also present. The blade has been polished and lightly sharpened, and only a trace of the pre-existing corrosion remains. The WKC etched maker''s mark appears beneath the crossguard''s eagle. With the polishing and scabbard paint issue, this dagger has been estimated accodingly.
