Randall Lee Gibson 1832-1892 Confederate brigadier general who led a brigade at Chickamauga and Chattanooga. Fine content war-date A.D.S. 2pp. large 8vo., Head Quarters, Gibson's Brigade , Dalton, Ga., Feb. 19, 1864 Gibson makes arrangements for the disposition of his slaves and appoints his aide as his proxy in the matter. In part: [My father has sent] five negro men... hired to a Mr. Wells he has likewise sent three more Negro women by Mr. Hudson with Judge Gholson's Negroes who are at work on the.coal mines I should at once take possession of them. have two of the Negroe men brought directly to me... he will in all respects act precisely as if he owned the Negroes. Quite light, but entirely legible.
