RAILROAD BROADSIDE
Most attractive railroad promotional broadside, 10" x 16", Ogdensburgh, N.Y., May 10, 1854, by Hitchcock & Tillotson, Ogdensburgh. The broadside, issued by the Northern Rail Road Company, bears an image of a locomotive and cars about to cross a bridge with a steamboat in the background as a man before a shanty looks on. Beneath, the company states its "REGULATIONS FOR THE RECEIPT, STORAGE, AND DELIVERY OF FREIGHT..." including storage fees for grains, meats, ashes and other goods, and costs for packaging and packing into cars. Signed in type at bottom by Superintendent George V. Hoyle. Light toning at folds, else very good.
