Includes LADY BIRD JOHNSON T.L.S. as First Lady, Apr. 27, 1967 thanking Wilson for "The copies of Portrait of John and Abigail Adams...so kindly sent to the White House have arrived. The President and I are delighted to have this historical treasure for our collection of special and meaningful books and we join in extending our deepest thanks..." With autograph postscript: "And of course the copy for the White House Collection has been safely delivered there and gratefully received.". Together with, EDWARD M. KENNEDY T.L.S. Aug. 22, 1967 on Senate letterhead concerning a proposed tax increase: "...The cost of the war in Vietnam on our economy and society has been great. To make too large a move in taxes without giving adequate consideration to the possibility of the unemployment effects that might result would only add to the social cost that would fall on our most disadvantaged..."; DANIEL P.
