Description:

POLISH REFUGEE LETTER GROUP
Large group of letters, documents, a bank book, postcards, paperwork describing immigration procedures, and greeting cards, approx. 60 articles in total, mostly addressed to a Louis Robinson or Sam Mozelman who were Jews residing in the U.S. and aiding Jews attempting to flee persecution under the Germans in Europe. Eight of the articles are in English and discuss the American immigration visa process for Jews attempting to leave Poland immediately preceding and during the German invasion. It appears that Robinson is a State Department employee who is attempting to use his connections to aid his friends and family in Poland. Among the items in English are two letters of introduction for a relative of Louis', Abraham Robinson, which are required to obtain a visa. Another letter, written by Abraham and dated January 3, 1939 , explains that he is attempting to acquire visas for his nieces in Warsaw. The majority of the content is in Polish, untranslated by us. Good condition overall. Should be researched.
