Description:

POLISH R.A.F. PILOT DOWNS AN ME-109 AND A JU-88
Scarce Battle of Britain Polish 303rd Squadron battle report marked "SECRET" at top, 1p. legal folio, [n.p.], the engagement report of Sgt. A. Frantczick reporting on his encounter with fifty bombers and fighters over Thameshaven at 1505 hours. He reports: "...As I was going in to attack a squadron of JU 88's with F/Lt Forbes, an Me 109 dived and attacked me from above...He failed to use deflection and missed and overshot me. I turned, got onto his tail and fired at 150 to 200 yds for two seconds, and he went down vertically and in flames...we attacked the bombers. I attacked one from below...firing at engine and cockpit. The starboard engine burst into flame and the enemy aircraft side slipped to the sea on his starboard wing...". File holes at left and a paperclip stain at top, else very good. Polish pilots fought with great distinction during the Battle of Britain, critically supplementing the depleted ranks of British fighter pilots.
