604. WILLIAM PITKIN (1743-1818) Revolutionary War brigadier general who repulsed the raid on Danbury, and served on the courts martial of Charles Lee and Major Andre. A.D.S. "Wm. Pitkin Clerk", 1p. oblong 8vo., [n.p.], Feb. 1783, being a pay voucher: "...Please to pay out of the public Treasury to... the sum of Nine Shillings... for their Several Travels to the Superior Court at New Haven..." Cross-signed through Pitkin's signature by Revolutionary War Colonel JEDEDIAH HUNTINGTON. Very dark ink, small hole affecting both signatures, folds, otherwise very good. $100-150
