PIETRO MASCAGNI AND BENIAMINO GIGLI
(1863 - 1945) Italian composer and director of the La Scala, composer of the one-act opera Cavalleria rusticana. Signed sheet music, the first page to his opera Iris published by Ricordi, boldly inscribed and signed at top in Italian to Peppo Hirsch, dated Roma, Dec. 14, 1903. Sold with a fine S.P. of BENIAMINO GIGLI (1890 - 1957) Italian operatic tenor and a member of the Metropolitan Opera Co. , 8" x 10" b/w, showing the tenor in role in Oriental dress in Iris. Both pieces beautifully framed in gilt, ideal for display. Fine condition.
