Description:

Pierre Van Cortlandt 1721-1814 Revolutionary War politician and first lieutenant governor of New York, a member of the Committee of Safety and Council of Safety, and a drafter of New York's constitution. Partial D.S. 1p. folio, New York, ca. 1773, apparently an estate document signed by Van Cortlandt, and Anne and Cornelia De Peyster, family members of the colonial merchant of the same name. Right side of document is removed, but signatures and most of text remain. Some fading, though fully legible.
