Philip V 1683-1746 King of Spain whose accession began the War of Spanish Succession, lost Gibralter to England and gave up Italian possessions and Netherlands to Austria, founder of the Bourbon dynasty in Spain. D. S. as King " Yo el Rey", 25pp. sm. folio, Aranjuez, Apr. 18, 1746 Shortly before his death, Philip rescinds the practice of the outright sale of public office and regains that authority for the crown, and also confirms a new official accountant in Seville. An important document with large distinct signature of the king, and signed by seven other public officials as well. Fine condition, with translation.
