PHILIP H. SHERIDAN
(1831-1888) Union major general of cavalry and famous Indian fighter. Sheridan's battle prowess was evident throughout the Civil War, from Booneville to Chickamauga and the elimination of J.E.B. Stuart at Yellow Tavern. Manuscript L.S. 1p. 4to., Washington, Apr. 2, 1887, on Headquarters Army of the United States letterhead to General H. C. King. In part: "...Your letter of the 16th relating to the employment of military bands, found me on my return recently from Denver. There is no change in the orders regulating the employment of military bands...". A bit of light offsetting, otherwise boldly signed and very good.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry.
