PERSONAL FLAG OF GENERALADMIRAL HERMANN BOEHM
HERMANN BOEHM (1884 - 1972) German General Admiral who commanded various torpedo boats during the Battle of Jutland. During the opening stages of the Spanish Civil War, he commanded naval forces off the Spanish coast. In 1937 he was put in command of the North Sea Station and promoted to fleet commander. Shortly after the Battle of the River Plate, Boehm was relieved of command. In April 1940, he was made the commander of German naval forces in Norway and promoted to General Admiral. Automobile pennant attributed to Boiehm's estate, 12 x 11 in., two-sided white cotton construction General Admiral's flag with a central Iron Cross and a golden yellow, crossed swords emblem at lower-left also visible on both sides. The hoist has a white cotton reinforcement with suspension line and clips to the top and bottom. Some mothing to the bottom of the flag, else very good. One of two such Boehm car flags which surfaced years ago. A rare flag from a high-ranking naval officer.
