PAUL TIBBETS(1915-2007) American bomber pilot of the Enola Gay which delivered the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, August 6, 1945. A handsome commemorative item, a model of the "Little Boy" atomic bomb which Tibbets dropped on Hiroshima, with wood base and descriptive plaque. The blue replica of the bomb measures about 10 1/2" long and is signed on one side by Tibbets and on the other by THEODORE "DUTCH" VAN KIRK, who adds: "Navigator Enola Gay". The replica is set atop a 17" x 6" ebony-colored wood base with a descriptive plaque is mounted beside it which describes particulars of Tibbets' historic mission.
