PATRICK HENRY
(1736 - 1799) American Revolutionary leader, with Jefferson and Lee initiated the Committee of Correspondence, member of the Continental Congress, remembered for his famous quote "Give me liberty, or give me death!" Partly-printed D.S. "P. Henry" as Governor of Virginia, 1p. oblong folio, Richmond, Oct. 2, 1786, a land grant of 1,000 acres to James Maccorkle in Jefferson County "...on the waters of the Sinking Creek...". Minor toning at fold intersections, light foxing, else very good condition with a strong, bold signature. An uncommonly good example as most surviving documents signed by Henry tend to be in poor condition. Matted and framed with an engraving of Henry.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. NOTE: large, heavy or bulky items are not shipped by the auctioneer.
