Description:

(b. 1947) American murderer, a member of the Charles Manson "family" who took an active, participatory part in both the Tate and LaBianca murders. Krenwinkel is now the longest-serving inmate in the California prison system. Very rare fine content T.L.S. on a "unicorn" letterhead with transmittal envelope, 1p. 4to., Frontera, Sep. 10, 1981 to Manson biographer Nuel Emmons. In part: "...Recently I received a letter from Charlie, in return I have requested correspondence with him...I thank you and Charlie for the money...I have remained silent. I would however be willing assist you in any way you wish. A genuine biography of Charlie is a good idea...I personally feel he is the best spokesman for himself. I too have my own voice...I would be glad to assist...My relationship with Charlie was multifacted due to who I was then and what developed through time. The most important piece of that relationship was friendship and that will endure indefinitely...". Small stain at bottom, else fine. From the estate of Manson's biographer NUEL (MELTON) EMMONS (1927-2002), who had once been jailed with and later befriended Manson. He co-wrote "Manson in His Own Words" and during their collaboration, Manson gave Emmons some of his personal correspondence.
