Description:

PASSENGER TICKET FOR CARRIAGE ON THE AIRSHIP "HINDENBURG"
Very rare passenger ticket issued to a German policeman to ride aboard the ill-fated Hindenburg for a four-day flight commencing on Mar. 26, 1936 on a round trip from Friedrichshafen. The gentleman, "Herr Wachtmeister Thurow", purchased the ticket the day before the flight, which presumably flew through parts of Europe. The ticket is stamped and signed by an agent of the owner, Deutsche Zeppelin-Reederei. The verso of the ticket sets forth 1929 Warsaw Agreement limitations in five languages. Near fine. A little more than a year later, on May 6, 1937, the doomed airship would explode into flames while docking at Lakehurst Air Station in New Jersey, killing 36 people.
