Description:

(1897 - 1974) German politician and journalist who broke with Hitler and organized the Schwarze Front, exiled in 1933 and founded the Free German Movement. Superb content T.L.S. on his 'Circle of Friends of Otto Strasser' letterhead, 3pp. 4to., Paradise, Nova Scotia, Feb. 2, 1954, to an American researcher. Strasser recounts several historic incidents and personal anecdotes concerning Hitler and the NSDAP. In small part: '...the double game Hitler was playing with Gen. Ludendorff and my brother [Gregor Strasser]...in May of 1924, when my brother was...freed from Landsberg Prison, he started, together with Gen. Ludendorff, the re-organization of the shattered [Nazi] Party...Hitler and his pals, Esser and Julius Streicher, had opposed any collaboration with the Freiheits Partei...the two parties united under the triumvirate of Ludendorff-Graefe-Strasser...Hitler himself was furious...Ludendorff and my brother decided to expel both Esser and Streicher from the Party...[Hitler] let Ludendorff and my brother believe he was in agreement with their measures...they suspected such double-crossing all the time...the photostat of Hitler's personal letter, written in 1915...with its poor composition and frequent mistakes, proves again my theory that Hitler was...a person without education and without knowledge...his outstanding quality was his mediumistic power...a sixth sense...shrewd and ruthless...I am deeply convinced that he is dead...Goebbels, who would certainly never have taken his own life unless he had seen...the corpse of his master...' Strasser goes on to also discuss talks he had with German military men concerning assassinating Hitler, and the Nazis' demand for his extradition from Switzerland. More excellent content.
