OTIS REDDING
(1941 - 1967) American singer, songwriter, record producer, considered one of the greatest singers in the history of American popular music and a seminal artist in soul music and rhythm and blues. Shortly before his death in a plane crash, Redding wrote and recorded his iconic "(Sittin' on) The Dock of the Bay". Rare typed D.S., 2pp, 4to., Macon, April 19, 1966, a contract between Redding and the International Performers Corporation of New York for a week-long performance engagement in Paris. Redding signs in blue ink at the bottom of the first page, while his manager, Phil Walden, signs "Otis Redding by PW" on his behalf at the conclusion on the second page. The contract is countersigned at the conclusion by Henry Goldgran of the International Performers Corp. Shows staple holes and slight staining at top left, else very good.
