Description:

OSWALD POHL, AUGUST HEISSMEYER AND WALTER SCHMITT
Fine content typed D.S. signed by three of the administrative chiefs of the SS and most notorious war criminals: OSWALD POHL (1892-1951) Head of the Economic Office of the SS and ultimate overseer of the concentration camp system. Pohl turned his victims' dental gold, eyeglasses, hair, etc. into cash for the SS, using the infamous "Max Heiliger" Swiss accounts. Captured and executed in 1951; AUGUST HEISSMEYER (1897-1979) Waffen-SS general, relieved Theodor Eicke who in 1939 had begun commanding a front line division. Heissmeyer was provisionally in charge of the inspection of concentration camps until relieved by Richard Glucks; and WALTER SCHMITT (1879-1945) SS-Obergruppenfuhrer and general of the Waffen-SS, later a member of the Reichstag. The document, 1p. 4to., Berlin, Jan. 27, 1939 is the draft of an intended promotion to be given to SS-Oberfuhrer Frank to the position of Amtschef in the SS Main Office. All three have signed at bottom beside their respective titles. Fine.
