ORVILLE WRIGHT
(1871 - 1948) American inventor and a pioneer of flight, Wright, with his brother Wilbur, made the first successful flight of a motor-driven airplane. A good signed postal cover, a commemorative FDC honoring the 25th Anniversary of Wright's historic first flight in a motor-powered plane on Dec. 17, 1903, cancelled at Kittyhawk, Dec. 17, 1928, and boldly signed by Wright at top center. Additionally signed in the cachet by Capt. BENJAMIN B. LIPSNER (1887 - 1941) who in 1918 became the first person to oversee regular air-mail service between in the United States. Small loss at left margin, commemorative cancellation only slightly affects signature, else fine condition.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyer's should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
