Lot of two German medals, includes: Silvered-bronze medal, 1.5 in. dia., relating to the Berlin Summer Olympic Games of 1936. The obverse illustrates a right-facing Greek head, inscribed ""4711-ERINNERUNG OLYMPIA 1936 BERLIN"" below, framed by branches of laurel leaves on either side, and the reverse illustrates a bell marked ""4711"" within an oval frame, inscribed ""KOLN"" (Cologne) and ""GLOCKEHGASSE"" below, framed by branches of laurel leaves on either side. The ring atop the medal has been bent and flattened, else fine. WITH: Merit Medal of the Bavarian Industrial Association, 2 in. dia., with the obverse illustrating a craftsman kneeled before a Greek man and the reverse illustrating a beehive and the words "FUR LANGJAHRIGE TREVE DIENSTE VOM BAYERISCHEN INDUSTRIELLEN VERBAND", all surrounded by laurel leaves on each side. With expected manufacturer's and silver content markings. Housed in original red box, marked "CARL POELLATH" on the bottom of the lid. Box shows some wear throughout, else very good to fine.
