OLIVER ELLSWORTH
(1745 - 1807) American politician, delegate to the Continental Congress and Constitutional Convention, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. A group of four manuscript documents including three pay orders dated May 23, July 14 and July 17, 1777 together with an endorsement signature on the verso of a 1783 order to pay his salary as state attorney. Offered together with three partly-printed Ds.S. by OLIVER WOLCOTT JR. including a pay order for a continental soldier, 1780 as well has a signed payment order for Apr. 13, 1789 and another for May 12, 1789. The latter two bear cancellation punches which affect signature. Together seven pieces in overall very good condition.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyer's should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
