NUREMBURG BRITISH ARMY HANGMAN
HARRY KIRK British hangman, a chief and assistant hangman from 1941-1950 who assisted Chief Executioner Albert Pierrepont in the hanging of 13 German war criminals at Hameln jail including Irma Greese, Elizabeth Volkenrath and Juana Bormann and ten men including the "Beast of Belsen", Josef Kramer. Albert is thought to have hanged around 200 Nazis in all, and Kirk likely assisted in many of these executions. Rare A.L.S. 1p. 8vo., Elton, Jan. 3, 1953, sending his autograph and mentioning "young Albert", possibly Pierrepont. Light soiling, els every good.
