(1894 - 1978) American painter and illustrator known for his homey, American genre paintings. T.L.S. on his letterhead, 1p. 8vo., Stockbridge, Ma., July 16, 1974, to Ron Brown, in part: "...I am sorry but I have to make a rule not to have visitors at my studio. I know it sounds inhospitable, which I regret, but my schedule is so crowded that I can't have interruptions. If you should be in the area...the Old Corner House here has fifty-some of my better originals on permanent exhibit...". With envelope, fine condition.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyer's should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
