NORMAN ROCKWELL
(1894 - 1978) American painter and illustrator known for his homey, American genre paintings. Good content T.L.S. "Norman" on his personal letterhead, 1p. 4to., Stockbridge, Apr. 16, 1968 to fellow Famous Artists School staff member Walt Reed. In part: "...I am writing to Mr. Freelen...I haven't anything to sell him but it is nice to be asked...I only wish there were some way I could get Doubleday...to make a reprint of THE NORMAN ROCKWELL ALBUM. They are all sold out...the editor doesn't seem interested in republishing it...Thank you for your interest in the presidential candidate series. I just got a letter today from the Kennedy people saying they liked the one I did of him very much , which amazes me since he is getting his hair cut and I made a special point of that amazing hairdo he had...".
