Description:

Fantastic archive of at least 100 non-combat documents, maps, and letters from Col. Thatcher T. P. Luquer, commander of the 306th Engineers Regiment, 81st Division, whose regiment saw service in Tronchoy, St. Die, Langres, and the Sommedieue sector of the Meuse-Argonne offensive shortly before war's end. The materials cover Luquer's pre-war training, his war-date tactical lessons from the Army School of the Line, as well as his service during World War I. Far too expansive to mention everything, just a few notable items include: his 1919 discharge certificate; a military blueprint of Aisey-sur-Seine; leave of absence documents; numerous documents regarding his military promotions and appointments; a large printed map of the Western Front showing the Allied lines and their advancements, published by Rand McNally & Company, ca. 1917; and much more. This grouping has been consigned by a direct linear descendant.
