fifty originals photographs showing various scenes of the Russian western front during World War I, most of the photos measuring about 5 1/2" x 4", with Tsar Nicholas II appearing full-length in military uniform in at least seven of the images, for the most part are group shots of soldiers beside bombed-out buildings and in a snowy forest. The photos depict many scenes from the front, including trenches, crude huts, mounted cavalrymen, an exploding shell, an artillery emplacement, a few bridges, and even two views of cloud cover taken from a biplane! Most of the photos are mounted in a crude period book, about 15 are loose, all are in very good condition. A rare photographic archive.
