A of the 39th Regiment 2pp. folio, Gurley House, Va., Aug. 31, 1864 The 39th was a true combat regiment serving before Petersburg, Hatcher's Run, Fort Fisher, and in the Carolinas. This document lists dozens of soldiers, their ranks, place of mustering, etc. with notations as to missing and dead, of which nine were lost in to disease and in action at Petersburg. Almost all the soldiers were illiterate, signing with a witnessed mark . Very good. E2250-350
