(NEBRASKA TERRITORY)
Manuscript D.S., 1p., 4to., Fort Leavenworth, June 16, 1856, a signed requisition from Quartermaster EBENEZER S. SIBLEY to Captain L. Van Vleit at Fort Lookout [Nebraska Territory] for "7 [tar] paulins Gutta Percha", boldly signed at bottom. Both Sibley and Van Vleit continued to serve in the Army through the Civil War: Sibley served as the assistant to the Quartermaster-General in Washington D.C., and Van Vleit was in charge of General Grant's ammunition train at the Battle of Vicksburg. Signature lightly brushed, toned at one margin, else very good.

Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
