Nathan Leopold 1904-1971 American criminal who, with Richard Loeb, was convicted in the thrill-killing of a 14 year old. Saved from the chair by Clarence Darrow's brilliant defense. T.L.S. from prison, 1p. 4to., Stateville, Il., Feb. 26, 1958, concerning Leopold's hobby of bird-watching and a "monograph on the Kirtland's warbler". Staple holes at upper left, otherwise very good.
