MYLES W. KEOGH Very rare A.L.S "M.W.K.", 4pp. 8vo., Fort Wallace, Ks., Dec. 22, 1867 to his brother Tom in London. In part: "...I was starting out the other day to hunt up some deserters from the infantry...The General will be married the 10th of March & will start for Europe...I cannot go with him...I am to be his first groomsman and will leave here for N.Y. next month...It will cost me considerable money but I could not refuse...I have had a splendid new set of decorations sent me from Paris...We have just received 10 gals. of fine Scotch Whiskey - Kelly is making us a brew...I have [killed] two antelope for my troops...[I] shall give them a toast of the Scotch brew, much to the satisfaction of the Irish in it...". With holograph transmittal envelope with "Keogh" penned in address area. Some uneven toning, mounting strip at left margin, else very good .
