MORRIS R. JEPPSON
(1922 - 2010) American Air Corps officer, weaponeer on the Enola Gay with Rear Adm. William Parsons, responsible for arming the Hiroshima atomic bomb during the flight from Tinian to Japan. A good collection of three pieces including a S.P. 8" x 10" b/w of Jeppson posing in front of the Enola Gay; S.P. 4" x 6" color photo of two of the electrical safety plugs used to arm the atomic bomb used on Hiroshima; and a T.Ms.S. 1p. 4to., [n.p., n.d.] explaining the fusing-detonation system "used to protect the airplane from premature detonation and to cause the bombs dropping at near the speed of sound to detonate 1 1/2 seconds above the ground!...". All three pieces signed "Morris Jeppson Weapon Test Officer Enola Gay, Hiroshima 6 Aug. 1945". Fine condition.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. NOTE: large, heavy or bulky items are not shipped by the auctioneer.
