45. WILLIAM MOORE (1735 - 1793) Pennsylvania statesman and politician of the Revolutionary era. He served as Vice-President of Pennsylvania, 1779-1781, and then as President, 1781-1782. Partly-printed war-date D.S. as President, 1p. folio parchment, Philadelphia, June 15, 1782, a deed issued to Frederick Bicking for his purchase at an auction "for the Present support of the Army" a parcel of land in the City of Philadelphia located "...on the east side of Broad Street between Sassafras and Cherry Streets...". Signed by Moore at bottom, also signed by TIMOTHY MATLACK (1730-1829) Revolutionary War officer and a "Fighting Quaker" who was also a delegate to the Continental Congress. Engrossment a bit light, else very good.$200-300
