MAXIMO GOMEZ
War-date A.L.S. in Spanish as Revolutionary General in Chief, 2pp., 8vo., La Demajagua, April 2, 1898, to Major General Francisco Carrillo, in part: "...Great is my satisfaction to give you account of recent events in the Cienfuegos Brigade in which fifteen brave men [?] maintained our arms...". Boldly signed "M. Gomez". Gomez penned this letter at a turning point in Cuba's war against Spain, where the Cuban revolutionaries had isolated Spanish troops to urban areas and controlled the countryside. Framed and mounted on a blue backing with photocopies of translation, fine condition, not examined out of frame.
