Most authentically signed, but some secretarial signatures may be present. The lot includes: six signed letters from LEVERETT SALTONSTALL on U.S. Senate letterhead; four signed letters from HENRY CABOT LODGE on U.S. Senate letterhead; a signed letter from Governor ROBERT E. BRADFORD on Commonwealth of Mass. stationary; a signed letter from Senator and Massachusetts Governor DAVID I. WALSH on Senate letterhead; and five signed letters from Congressman JOHN W. HESELTON on Congressional letterhead. Notable letters discuss the McCarthy investigations, the firing of General Douglas MacArthur, Atomic Energy, the David Lilienthal scandals, etc. Sold with some letters from Mr. and Mrs. Jean Louis Drapeau, many bearing harsh passages, including: 'Come on Lev, this country is on the skids...firm up and tell him you can no longer sit back on his screw-ball ideas...the government has no business making economic laws...this country - ITS CITIZENS - is now a spendthrift idiot...' Generally very good.

Shipping

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, FedEx and DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling and shipping charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight. Please contact us for an estimate before bidding NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items may not be shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arranged through the auction house. Customers who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee. Please allow 2-3 weeks for shipments after receipt of payment due to the high volume of packages being shipped.
