Description:

MASONIC APRON FROM 1898
An interesting relic, an ornate white leather and light green silk Masonic apron adorned with metal mesh fringe and embroidered with the insignia compass with a "G" at center and traditional All Seeing Eye. It measures 14" x 12 1/2", with a blue silk cord for hanging around the waist. The apron is signed on the inside flap: "Compliments of F.E. Allen Aug. 3, 1898". The item arrived with a small portion of the original box bearing a label from military goods supplier M.C. Lilley & Co. of Columbus, OH, with the recipient's name penciled in as "G. H. Cobb". Due to the damage to the box, it is not included with the lot. Some light staining and wear to silk edges, but overall in very good condition.
