La Grange, Oct. 27, 1829 to Deputy Villeveque in Paris. An interesting letter in which Lafayette seeks assistance for a family emigrating to America: ...[they] are considering ettling on your vast American properties... I don't know what assistance you can offer these commendable immigrants... I know they will find in you kindness and loyalty. . . Very good.
