"Margaret Mitchell Marsh" 1p. 4to., Atlanta, Oct. 6, 1941 to a Mr. Farrar. Mitchell gives some insight into her plans for further writing. In part: "...I cannot supply the story you wish. The reasons are simple. I have no unpublished manuscripts and I do not know when or how I could write something... I have not written a line since 'Gone With the Wind'. ..so many demands on my time, I have been unable to attempt writing of any kind ..And if by some miracle, I could find the opportunity for writing, I am doubtful I could write the kind of sketch you want. ..my rustiness after some years away from the typewriter...."
