Description:

Original Vietnam War-issue U.S. M1C paratrooper helmet with front seam and swivel bales, indicating original production during World War II. The exterior has been sanded completely smooth and repainted olive-green, with the same finish within. An almost entirely indistinct heat stamp is just barely visible within the front interior. The shell is also fitted with a reversible Mitchell-pattern helmet cover, displaying a "green leaf" camouflage scheme and backed with a "brown cloud" pattern. The "brown cloud" side features a crisp inventory stamp giving a contract number of "7057", indicating manufacture in 1965. The shell is fitted with a correct olive drab, sand-finished fiber liner, stamped "M" within the dome, and fitted with "A"-style chinstrap yokes and snaps corresponding to those fitted to the chin strap of the shell. The chinstrap itself is absent, as is the airborne-style nape strap, although the three mounting buckles for this strap are present. The interior dome of the shell shows some rust with several dents, the camouflage cover shows some rust stains, and the liner shows some abrasions to the rim and exterior finish, else very good.
