A portfolio entitled: 'LZ 126 20 Original Photographs of the America-Airship', published by Luftschiffbau Zeppelin GmbH, Friedrichshafen, 1924 containing twenty 9 x 6.5 original photographs mounted on 12.5 x 9.5 in. boards documenting the construction and early flights of LZ-126. LZ 126, the US Los Angeles, in the service of the United States Navy, was built in 1923-24 in Friedrichshafen and is regarded as the most successful American airship. In Germany it was nicknamed America-airship or the 'Reparation-Airship'. The mounted photos with captions are original prints and show the zeppelin under construction, framework, passenger cabin, the engine, and crew, much from different perspectives, along with photographic portraits of Eckner, Colsman, Zeppelin, etc., and a description of the vessel. Very good.
