Description:

(b. 1948) "Squeaky", follower of Charles Manson, later attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford, failing to get a shot off when her gun jammed. Fine association A.L.S. with her initial "R" (for "Red", the name attached to her by Manson), 6pp. 4to., [n.p., n.d. but likely prison in Alderson, WV, ca. 1980], to CHARLES MANSON, the likely incarcerated in Vacaville, Ca. In part: "...In a letter B[obby] B[eausoleil?] recently sent me - his first from the place where Riff is - he talked about Bob Hope. Said he doesn't know if he's related or not but he doesn't know his real father and there are some old pictures of his mom(a show biz person) with Bob Hope...In a letter I got from you the same day, you mentioned Liz Taylor & Bob Hope...you'ver mentioned getting certain letters on certain days...B [probably "Blue", Sandra Good] talked to Secret Service one day recently when I didn't want to and they asked her about me - if i sent a letter to Carter...I'm gonna go ahead and send him a letter saying how much I admire Hitler..." Much more fine content. From a grouping of Fromme's letters in the estate of Manson's biographer NUEL (MELTON) EMMONS (1927-2002), who had once been jailed with and later befriended Manson. He co-wrote "Manson in His Own Words".
