Description:

(b. 1948) 'Squeaky', follower of Charles Manson, later attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford, failing to get a shot off when her gun jammed. A.L.S. 'Red', 1p. 4to., [n.p., n.d.], letter to Nuel Melton, the biographer of Charles Manson. In part: '...Something is going on here of significance...we already know we are good, well meaning, and all that. But five billion people who let their planet go to ruin for the sake of green paper can't be all good...Put it off until tomorrow. Tomorrow you can sit down and be right. Now you have much to do...Then you got some time... What am I running from? Death. Funny how people who run from death never live. Catholic people can confess their sins every weekend and commit the same sins...The only way to get forgiveness is to stop doing what makes you feel guilty. That’s a death. It is a part of the past habits you give up...But you do it for someone you care about. Someone who it means something to. It's a death. You feel it ripped from your guts...That's what being reborn is all about.' Included with a original postal envelope. Fine condition. From a grouping of Manson's letters in the estate of his biographer NUEL (MELTON) EMMONS (1927-2002), who had once been jailed with and later befriended Manson. He co-wrote 'Manson in His Own Words'
