Description:

(b. 1948) 'Squeaky', follower of Charles Manson, later attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford, failing to get a shot off when her gun jammed. A.L.S. 'Red', 10pp. 4to., two pages hand-painted, Pleasanton, Ca., [n.d., ca. 1978], to CHALES MANSON and with her holograph addressed envelope to Manson upon which she signs her last name "Fromme". In small part: "...I lost care when Ruth left and Cappy, and so on. Gold was the worst maybe...And George wanted me to come and see him...I knew how far he would go. But then he died. I knew he was your love but I showed no care. And I showed no care for the horses when they were to be castrated. And I left you because I did care..." She also discusses a dune buggy trip in Yosemite, prison conditions, letters she had sent to Sandra Good which were rejected by the warden, and further states: "...Others can laugh about that till they see the Tate house..." and a statement she made to the press: "Charlie never killed anybody, but no we never denied it..." Fine. From a grouping of Fromme's letters in the estate of Manson's biographer NUEL (MELTON) EMMONS (1927-2002), who had once been jailed with and later befriended Manson. He co-wrote 'Manson in His Own Words'.
