Description:

LYNETTE FROMME
(b. 1948) 'Squeaky', a follower of Charles Manson, later attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford, failing to get a shot off when her gun jammed. Fine content A.L.S., 4pp., while incarcerated in Forth Worth, Oct. 22, 2000. Fromme writes to an admirer, in part: ‘...I got the card you sent and wrote on. I can not get blank cards or stationery...I also can't be a padded card or a card that plays music...It sound like you...and your family have chemical imbalances & I think this is a field in which a lot of advances have been made...You don't want to discipline anyone? Does this mean you see me in need for discipline? Does it mean you can't discipline yourself?...I'm curious about this...it may be a matter of semantics...I think most people believe they are working for their families but that many are caught in a cycle they don't even have time to figure out...In 1987...I left prison...without escort of federal marshal or permission. That's call escape and when 2 days later I ran into officer's from the prison who were looking for me…I was arrested...until they could try me in court...I've never had a lawyer while in prison & prefer not to. Unfortunately some prison staff are impressed by them...Each time I think I might do well to get a lawyer the conditions which caused me to think that abate, so I never have. I've never sued the Bureau of Prisons and have never overused the administrative remedy system...'. With original signed transmittal envelope. Fine condition.
