Description:

LYNETTE FROMME (b. 1948) "Squeaky", follower of Charles Manson, later attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford, failing to get a shot off when her gun jammed. Lot of two letters sent from Fromme to Charles Manson's biographer Nuel Emmons, includes: A.N.S. "Lyn", 1p. 4to., [West Virginia,] "Wed. 27th" [likely May 27, 1981, according to transmittal envelope], reading in full: "Mel - I'm sending you a part of a letter & may send others later when I get stamps". Fromme signs at the conclusion in black ink. Uneven top edge, evenly toned, else very good. WITH: Partial A.L. (unsigned) from CHARLES MANSON (1934 - 2017), drifter whose "family" committed the infamous Tate-LaBianca murders in 1969, 6pp. 4to., [n.p., n.d.], a nonsensical letter sent to Fromme, then forwarded to Emmons as referenced above, reading in part: "...There is much of your thought you kept me in the dark about for your fears as doubts that something would come between us...I myself learnt to trust no one with...all of my own world Kingdom...most of my Realms are behind you as even now you look for them in prison - Prison has always been in the mind of the law like money... your thought as you were child to see and become awair...so is mine in mind of the God Lord Budda Hi Ho bless heaven Jesus Christ Billy Tom John as any name that was belonging to words..." Original mailing folds, else fine. Sold with original transmittal envelope. From the estate of Manson's biographer NUEL (MELTON) EMMONS (1927 - 2002), who had once been jailed with and later befriended Manson. He co-wrote "Manson in His Own Words".
