LYNETTE FROMME LETTER TO CHARLES MANSON
(b. 1948) 'Squeaky', a follower of Charles Manson, later attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford, failing to get a shot off when her gun jammed. A.L.S. 'R' (for 'Red', her name in the Manson Family), 8pp. 4to., Alderson, 1983, to Charles Manson. In part: '...I just had a thought to ask you for a fire doll...Also can you make one with a circle with the mark in it and also like a man inside a circle with lots of arms...he [Manson biographer Nuel Emmons] hasn't sent me the parts of his book he said he would. I know you deal w/ what you got to work with but I don't understand that...About re-writing letters - I don't mind that. I just don't like the long letters to bitches or skip and run liars who have moved on to some other fantasy or some other house by the time the letter gets there...' Fromme goes on to discuss at length contemporary events involving political regimes of South American countries. Featuring a few hand-drawn illustrations on the first page of the dolls discussion. Accompanied by a hand addressed envelope. Fine condition. From a grouping of Manson's letters in the estate of his biographer NUEL (MELTON) EMMONS (1927-2002), who had once been jailed with and later befriended Manson. He co-wrote 'Manson in His Own Words'.
