LUTHER BURBANK
(1849 - 1926) American scientist and horticulturist who developed new strains of fruits, berries and vegetables, and the Shasta daisy as well. Lot of six items includes: T.L.S on his letterhead, 1p. 8vo., Santa Rosa, Oct. 30, 1919: "...the two apples you sent me arrived in the best condition...not quite so highly colored...but the quality will balance this...it should be worth introducing...I have some eight thousand seedling apples of my own...send me some grafts...". With: vintage postcard showing him with a visitor at his Santa Rosa farm, 1906, 1910 colored postcard showing spineless cactii, along with a stereoview card showing same; 10" long color postcard offering panoramic view of the ranch; and FDC, 1940. Overall very good.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
