Description:

1694. IDA LUPINO (1914-1995) American actress who portrayed the typical hard-luck dame opposite Humphrey Bogart, Edward G. Robinson and the like. Widely respected as a pioneer for women filmmakers, she became the only notable female filmmaker of her era in Hollywood. S.P. 8" x 10" glossy, a production still from "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" starring Basil Rathbone. Backed up against a tree, Lupino is pictured in a three-quarters pose, cowering frightfully from an unseen stalker. She signs across her chest in a light area in blue black ink, "To Harry from Ida Lupino". Tack holes and minor creases. "1939" is written in marker aside printed indicia in lower margin. Very good. $30-50
