Fine content T.L.S. on his personal letterhead, 1p. 4to., Axams, June 14, 1971. In part: '...You may send me a copy of Operation Cicero and it will be signed...Papen himself wrote his memoirs...During the War, even the enemy called him 'Le dernier grand chavalier du Reich'. I must say that he saved my life after the desert[ion] of my secretary Nele Kapp. Cicero, recte Bazna, was anything but an agreeable guy. I had two meetings with him in Munich and Innsbruck, years after the end of the War. None of them would give me a better impression of that man whom I first met in Ankara in 1943...' Fine condition.
